Warehouses are optional. They allow you to specify more than one shipping origination for your products. By default, the shipping origination of your products is the address specified in your store settings. If warehouses are used with Inventory Control enabled, you can also keep track of your inventory amongst your different warehouses. Warehouses are useful for anyone that ships their products from more than one location or drop shipper.
