Shipping rules are manually created shipping rates that will only be offered to the customer when certain conditions are met. These conditions are based on properties of the order as a whole. If more than one condition is met, Squirrelcart will only offer the rates for the rules with the highest (largest) priority number.
Here is an example scenario:
Assume that these 3 rules have conditions that are met for an order, and all have a priority of 1:
- Offer free shipping for orders over $30 via USPS Priority
- Offer USPS OverNight for $15.00
- Offer FedEx Ground for $8.00
Assume that these 2 rules have conditions that are met for an order, and all have a priority of 2:
- Offer USPS Global for $25.00
- Offer FedEx International for $32.00
In the example, all conditions for the rules were met for this order. Squirrelcart will offer the 2 Priority 2 rules, because they have a larger priority.
