Cart reminder auto email feature

Some customers start an order and never complete it. Maybe they got distracted, or maybe their cat Mr. Whiskers fell asleep on the keyboard and they didn't have the heart to wake him up. Don't let Mr. Whiskers ruin your bottom line!

• Automatically remind customers to complete unfinished orders.
• Offer assistance with unfinished orders
• Customize emails in the control panel. Include an incentive like a coupon code if you like.
• Control when emails are sent based on how long cart has been inactive.
• Add optional rules to further restrict when reminder emails are sent.
• Create an unlimited number of cart reminder emails with different rules and messages.
• With our cart persistence feature, their order is ready and waiting for when they return.

Fraud detection and geolocation tools

These new tools can be used to assist you in detecting fraudulent orders.

Automatically receive information about the estimated location of your customer based on their IP address. Use that information to help determine if they provided a false address. Two APIs are available depending on your needs. FreeGeoIP.net is completely free minFraud® by MaxMind.com provides more detailed information and is very reasonably priced ($0.005 per query!). See the (estimated) location of your customer, including their country, state, city, postal code, and latitude/longitude.

Photo Gallery module (included in Squirrelcart Pro, sold separately for regular Squirrelcart)

This module is great for showing off product and customer photos, and to provide additional information about your products. This is also a great way to share photos sent to you by customers showing your products in use.

• Display and organize your photos using albums and sets.
• Add effects like photo corners, slits, gloss, photo mats, tape, etc...
• Automatically generate thumbnails
• Add titles and descriptions
• Include related images
• Display larger images via a lightbox effect
• Customers can browse albums via a navigation block or a built-in Content record

Coupon codes can now be used on more than one record.

• You can now offer discounts on multiple products, discounts on the entire order, special shipping rates, and more, all with a single coupon code.
• Example: you may want to offer a product discount AND free shipping via one coupon code. This is now possible with 5.5.0.

Cron script

Cron jobs are used to schedule routine tasks. Version 5.5 now has support for scheduling the cart reminder email mentioned earlier via a cron script. We will be expanding on this to offer other scheduled operations in the future.

• There's a new Cron Script Management tool in the control panel.
• Use it to run the cron script manually for testing purposes
• Control the frequency of operations
• View detailed logs showing operations recently performed by the cron script

Email improvements

• Email Logs - you can now view the subject, recipient, and sent date for all emails sent by Squirrelcart in the last 30 days in your control panel.
• Improved appearance of order emails in email clients that do not comply with CSS standards (Outlook, Gmail, etc...)
• Email errors shown in the email diagnostics tool in the control panel (and in diag mode) are now much more detailed, making it easier to troubleshoot email issues.

Shipping Rate Troubleshooter

We've added a new control panel tool to help you quickly diagnose common shipping configuration mistakes. It displays helpful information about your shipping configuration, detects possible problems, and offers troubleshooting steps and advice to help resolve shipping rate issues.

• Nav blocks now use the rich text editor
• New storefront effect fades elements into view on page load and when scrolling down.
• Image files now keep their original names (sometimes with an added suffix). In prior versions, they were completely renamed by a robot living inside our source code.
• Added a "Users - ordered items" control panel view to make it easy to see all the items ordered by individual customers, with ability to search and export that data.
• Order stats improvements - There's a new (optional) Profit / Loss column and settings to hide unused columns.

Version 5 is mobile friendly and looks great on smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktops! Over 60% of traffic now comes from mobile devices. If you haven't upgraded to version 5, you are missing out on a lot of traffic!
