Facebook Login Strategy

Overview

This page explains how to enable the Facebook login strategy for Squirrelcart's social sign-in feature. If you have not already done so, please read the main Social Sign-In topic before reading this one. You will need to register an application with Facebook as part of the setup process.

Enabling Facebook Login

If you have not already done so, enable our SEO URL feature.
Go here: https://developers.facebook.com/apps/
If not logged in, you will be prompted to login to Facebook.
If you are not registered as a Facebook developer, click the Register as a Developer link.
After you have registered as a developer, click Create a New App
In the Display Name field, enter the name of your website.
Leave the Namespace field blank
Set the Category field to shopping
Click the Create App ID button
Click the Settings link on the left side of the page.
At the top of the page, you'll see an App ID and App Secret. Copy both of these to a text file so you have them for later use. You will have to click the Show button in order to view the App Secret.
Enter your domain name in the App Domains field.
Enter your email address in the Contact Email field.
Click the Add Platform link
Choose Website for the platform type.
Enter the URL to your Squirrelcart storefront page in the Site URL field. If you have an SSL certificate, use your secure URL.
Click Save Changes
Click Status & Review
Change "Do you want to make this app and all its live features available to the general public?" to YES, then click confirm.
Open your Squirrelcart control panel
Click Users > Account Settings > Facebook
Enter your App ID and App Secret in the corresponding fields
Check the Enabled field
