USPS real time rate lookups only work when shipping from the US. In addition, our implimentation currently only supports shipping to US addresses.

 

Enabling Real Time Rates for USPS

 

1. Register

 

Register online to use USPS Web Tools at the following URL: http://www.uspsprioritymail.com/et_regcert.html

 
2. Wait for Email

 

Once your registration is complete, you will receive a username and password to access USPS Web Tools via email.

 

3. Call USPS and get Access to Production

 

The email will tell you to test, and then call a toll free number to get access to their production servers. There is no need to test, as we have done plenty of testing with their API. Call the number they give you in the email, and ask to have your account given access to their production server.

 
4. Put the "U.S.Postal Service" courier record in edit mode.

 

5. Make sure USPS is enabled.

 
6. Enable Real Time Rates

 

Check the "Real Time Rates" field

 
7. Enter Username and Password

 

Enter your username and password provided by USPS in the "RTR Username" and "RTR Password" fields, respectively.

 
8. Confirm RTR URL

 

The "RTR URL" is the URL that the cart will use to obtain rates. Confirm that it is set to "http://production.shippingapis.com/ShippingAPI.dll". Do not change it to the test URL, or any other URL.

 
9. Enable Services

 

Check the boxes next to the shipping services (methods) you wish to offer
