Squirrelcart automatically keeps track of which products in your catalog our new, and displays a small "new" image with those products on your storefront:

 

 

By default, Squirrelcart considers any product added to your cart within the last 30 days as new. You can adjust this setting by modifying the "New" field in your Store Settings. If you do not want the cart to keep track of your new products, set the field to 0.
